i did not write

for the whole of about 6 months, since my november 2005 post, i have simply made lots of pots. hand built w/slabs and thrown. i tried to gain skill in the spring 2006 in glazing and throwing stoneware. so i will post some photos this summer as i have time. now i am concentrating on entertaining kids and prepping to send one off to CSM in the fall 2006. juggling kids. between rounds of dropping one off at camp and picking up one from work, i try to put brush to paint to paper and enjoy watercolors. and i photograph my white koi.

CuWave - this is my fave pot from 2005

you will not find pictures of me jumping on a trampoline. at all. but when i saw this pot i did jump up and down.
the pot is slab and coil construction with red vintage stoneware given to me by my mom. the red clay is groggy and terrific for hand building. The raised design i cut out of craft foam and pressed into the slabs before wrapping the slabs around 2 plastic apple juice bottles. (i like using found or recycled stuff for my forms) this is one of the first pots i put feet on, i was worried about the feet surviving, as they are tip-toe. the top part, i made with coils. this pc is bisqued in an electric kiln to cone 04 and then glazed with transparent green and brushed on birdbath blue at the top only and gas fired to cone 3 strike.

Helloooooooo! I can't think of anything to write, but it's really weird to be writing on my madre's blog. like reallyyy weird. i feel like i am like doing something illegal. but really i'm not. believe me. you konw what i just found out today? that blog means web log! i almost wrote web lob there. hehe. like web log. how cool is that? okay mom is back, so i am not. wait, that dosent make sense. whatever. you get the point.
